On a typical Finnish weekend in 2014, engineer Ari Laakkonen and sports coach Jarkko Kortelainen sat in a sauna together, discussing sport and fitness technology and Jarkko’s success with the Fustra Method – his award-winning exercise program aimed at solving recurrent neck and shoulder pain.

They began brainstorming products that could solve people’s body mobility problems when Jarkko pointed at a broom stick in the corner of the room and said “if you could embed technology into that broom handle, so it could tell users which position they should be in and help them align their bodies, we may have something interesting.”

And from that, Helsinki-based TE3 was born.
